LIFESTYLE CARBON TRAIL™

1. What is your Home Carbon Trail™?

Ultimately, the citizens of the earth. We are the stewards of the planet. We have the ability to destroy the planet as no other species has. Unfortunately, as societies have evolved they have assigned more and more police powers to their respective governments, and that is not generally a bad thing. However, there has also evolved a mentality that the government is responsible to fix any and all ills of society. That is just not possible. We all need to be more accountable for our decisions and our actions. If you drive a gas guzzler for no other reason than image or ego, you need to make reparations in other areas of your life for the damage you have caused society as a whole. We are all neighbors, whether we live next door or on the next block, next town, next state or next continent. So, you and I are responsible for CONTRIBUTING to climate changes.

2. What is your Automobiles Carbon Trail™?

There are now about 7 billion people on this planet. All of them contributing to pollution. Over the past two decades the effect has become more marked. Considerable evidence exists that most of this warming has been caused by human activities, that is to say, we have altered the chemical composition of the atmosphere through a buildup of greenhouse gases – primarily carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide. We need to make some changes now.  We need to take responsibility for our chosen lifestyles and act (not react) accordingly.

3. What is your Vacation Carbon Trail™?

To date, no one has a comprehensive plan that I know of that offers solutions to all of the problems. We must take it upon ourselves to use our “common sense” and conserve all the various forms of energy we consume, recycle when and where we can, make adjustments in our lifestyles accordingly and teach others as we discover ways to benefit our planet. After conserving as much as possible, then you need to erase your Carbon Trail™ or at least offset your Carbon Footprint. We are attempting to assemble a comprehensive database of each and every type of Carbon Pollution your leave with your Carbon Trail™ and then offer a calculation to erase your Carbon Trail™.

4. How do I erase my Carbon Trail™?

“Erase” or offset, what is the difference? You "Offset" you recent or near future carbon pollution, you "ERASE" your Carbon Trail™, that is. you make an effort to repair or restore the environment to the closest condition prior to your pollution contribution. Which would you prefer to do, OFFSET or ERASE?

Think of it as mathematics, if you add a positive 1 and a negative 1 you get a zero. If you create Carbon pollution, then you must create something that eliminates that Carbon pollution, not just recent pollution, but your historical pollution.
